Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Castagneto Carducci started its activity in 1910 under the name of
“Cassa Rurale di Prestiti” following the ideas of
Federico Guglielmo Raiffeisen and the work of
Leone Wollemborg who, in 1883, founded the first
Cassa Rurale Italiana in Loreggia (Padova).
Both their efforts and activity focused on helping people in need, at that time, the access to credit was very difficult and acting under suspicion of favoring
“catholic groups“, they had to operate cautiously and were often forced to stop providing services .
Nevertheless, our bank managed to survive the adversity of those years and in
1956 la Cassa Rurale e Artigiana regained its strength and reached important goals in asset and revenues. In
1994 its social denomination
changed into “Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Castagneto Carducci”. Today the institute, counts on the service of
19 front offices and its
Administration office in Donoratico has acquired an important role in the support of operators and families who live, work and operate in the area.
